Experience Park East Middle School (6-8)
Students in grades six through eight are prepared for success at New York's premier high schools.
Our middle school curriculum is rigorous. As the experience of a child's world is connected, so, too, is their course of study. Teachers design and implement an interdisciplinary program, devoted to both general and Jewish studies, taught in English and Hebrew.
Advanced reading and writing, social studies, and gifted programs in math and science challenge eager minds. Dynamic extracurricular activities – including math and science teams, chess club and soccer, yoga, swimming and basketball – round out our childrens' days.
For older students, Judaic studies is a deeper, richer discovery of Jewish identity and heritage. The study of Hebrew language, Torah, Talmud and prophets emphasizes our history and tradition, as does a greater focus on Israel, both in terms of history and modern cultural connections. Middle School students take an additional class in Jewish History, with one year focusing exclusively on Zionism. The influence of Dean Rabbi Arthur Schneier and classroom visits from his distinguished colleagues – including ambassadors, religious leaders and UN representatives – highlight religious freedom, human rights and other issues of global import.
